Crew Team Completes Community Service Project At Maritime Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – On Saturday evening, the Endicott crew team participated in the annual Maritime Gloucester cleanup as part of a community service project for the program.

The Gulls also rowed Gloucester Harbor in pilot gigs, which are the original search and rescue boats from the early 1800s. The gigs are 6-oared, 32-foot long narrow boats that were sent out to pilot ships into harbors as well as being sent out on rescue missions for vessels in distress.

The crew team rowed three boats in Gloucester Inner and Outer Harbor with the Gloucester Gig Rowers. It was an educational experience for the crew team, which pushed them out of their comfort zones but was invaluable to team building.
