SUPER REGIONALS: No. 3/4 Endicott Overpowers No. 16/21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 15-1
BEVERLY, Mass. — Sophomore Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) pitched a complete game and Endicott’s bats exploded for 15 runs as the No. 3/4 ranked Gulls overpowered No. 16/21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 15-1, in the opening game of a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series at North Field on Friday afternoon.

BEVERLY, Mass. — Sophomore Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) pitched a complete game and Endicott's bats exploded for 15 runs as the No. 3/4 ranked Gulls overpowered No. 16/21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 15-1, in the opening game of a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series at North Field on Friday afternoon.

Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) went 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run and three RBI, while John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with five RBI and scored three runs for the homestanding Gulls. Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.), Cade Bernardo (Glenmont, N.Y.), and AJ Hamm (Shrewsbury, Mass.) also all produced two hits apiece in the barrage by Endicott this afternoon as the Gulls totaled 15 runs on 13 hits, the most for the team in Super Regional history.
After Hale set the Stags down 1-2-3 in the top of the first, Zach Stephenson (Mansfield, Mass.) launched a leadoff home run in the bottom of the frame, giving Endicott an early 1-0 lead. Before the inning was over, the Gulls loaded the bags on two hits and a walk before Mulready made it 4-0 with a three-run double to the gap in centerfield. Two batters later, TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) drove in Mulready on a base loaded walk and Stephenson recorded his second RBI of the frame on a sacrifice fly to make it 6-0 in favor of Endicott through just one inning.
Endicott extended its lead to nine in the bottom of the third as after a leadoff walk by Mulready and a single through the right side by Hamm, Wladkowski hooked a three-run homer just inside the left field foul pole for his team-leading tenth round-tripper of the season.
The Gulls once again loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth and took advantage of back-to-back sacrifice flies by Liponis and Stephenson, making the score 11-0. The sacrifice fly from Liponis was his nation-leading 11th of the 2025 season. Endicott also now extended its team lead in sacrifice flies this year with three today, the Gulls have 50 in 46 games. The Gulls also extended their nation-leading run total and now have 524 runs this year.
Endicott added four runs in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Bernardo, a two-run single by Mulready, and an RBI knock by Hamm to make it 15-0. Hale returned to the bump after facing the minimum number of batters from innings five through eight, but with one out in the ninth, Andrew Mazzone broke up the shutout with his 18th home run of the season and fifth of the NCAA Tournament in the top of the ninth.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Appearing in its tenth NCAA Tournament, Endicott is hosting an NCAA Super Regional for the fourth consecutive season.
- The Gulls swept Johns Hopkins University in last year's Super Regional series on North Field and now have a record of 5-2 in the program's seven Super Regional contests – all played in Beverly, Mass.
- Today's meeting was just the second all-time between the Gulls and the Stags as the two sides previously played in Southern California back on March 23, 2002, with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps defeating Endicott, 10-1.
- Endicott's 14-run victory today tied the largest margin of victory in Division III Super Regional history with Marietta College in game two of its series against Oswego State (19-5) in 2022, as Super Regionals were introduced into the Division III world that same season.
- Hale's effort for the Gulls marked his fourth complete game of the season and of his collegiate career. His 13 wins this season are the most in program single-season history.
- Wladkowski and Stephenson belted their tenth and ninth home runs of the season, respectively, as Endicott moved into a tie for fifth in Division III this year with 67 home runs in 2025. Wladkowski is also now one home run shy of tying the career program record of 27 set by Nicolas Notarangelo '24 (Taunton, Mass.).
- Endicott extended its home winning streak to 54 straight games dating back to May 13, 2023.
- Frammartino has reached base safely in all 46 games this year for the Gulls.
WHAT'S NEXT
No. 3/4 Endicott (42-4) and No. 16/21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps meet in an elimination game tomorrow at 11:00 am. Should the Stags tie the series, a winner-take-all third contest follows 45 minutes after the opening concludes. The winner of this weekend's Super Regional will advance to the College World Series next weekend in Ohio. Endicott will be searching for its third straight trip to the College World Series.
