Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College won its 20th game of the season, tying last year’s win total, with an 8-5 non-conference win over GNAC-leading Suffolk University. The win improves the Gulls to 20-9 overall (13-1 TCCC), while the Rams fall to 13-12 (9-1 GNAC). Endicott has now won seven in a row and 10 of its last 12 games.

Suffolk’s Bobby Barrett (Milton, Mass.) got the Rams on the board in the top of the first has he poked an RBI triple to the wall in right-center to score Chris Stanley (Orange County, Calif.) to give the guests an early 1-0 lead.

Endicott responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the first after a \#Ralph Fidaleo\# (Fairfield, Conn.) base knock scored \#Eric Lemke\# (Southington, Conn.). \#Colin Sitarz\# (West Hartford, Conn.) then plated \#Chris Dominguez\# (Braintree, Mass.) by reaching on a fielder’s choice. The Gulls tacked on another run in the second by capitalizing on a Suffolk error that allowed \#Robbie Goldstick\# (Deerfield, Ill.) to score.

Suffolk knotted the game at three-aside in the third when freshman John Vigliotti (Amesbury, Mass.) hit a two RBI single to center, scoring Marc Doyle (Whitman, Mass.) and Barrett. Another run in the fourth gave the visitor’s their first lead of the day after a sacrifice fly from Andrew Babb (Hopkinton, Mass.) allowed Stanley to tag and score from third.

Endicott took control of the game in the fourth and fifth, scoring twice in each frame to take the lead for good. \#Eric Lemke\# singled through the right side, moving \#Scott Worth\# (Londonderry, N.H.) to third. Lemke then got himself in a run-down, giving Worth the chance to race home. The Ram throw to the plate wasn’t in time to get Worth, nor was the following toss back to second base where Lemke slid in safely. \#Aaron Santos\# (Cambridge, Mass.) lofted a sacrifice fly later in the inning, and then Endicott scored in the fifth on two Suffolk errors and an RBI single from Lemke.

Each team would add an additional run before it was all said and done. Suffolk got its final run in the sixth when Rory Gentile (Gloucester, Mass.) led off the frame with a double before scoring on an RBI single from Barrett. Endicott scored in the seventh when \#Ralph Fidaleo\# singled back up the middle to plate Lemke.

\#Tyler Hitchcock\# (Abington, Mass.) grabbed the win after taking over for starter \#Colin McGinn\# (Tolland, Conn.). Hitchcock went six full innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Suffolk’s Chris Campbell (Orchard Park, N.Y.) took the loss after giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits in four innings.

\#Eric Lemke\# led the Blue and Green with a 2-for-4 day with two RBI and three runs scored. Fidaleo added two RBI to go along with his two hits. Bobby Barrett was 4-for-5 with two runs batted in for the Rams.

Endicott returns to action on Saturday when the Gulls travel to Dudley, Mass. for a TCCC doubleheader with Nichols College beginning at noon. Suffolk looks to rebound on the same day with a twinbill against Albertus Magnus.
