Ryan Paquette Tabbed Defensive Coordinator

Middlebury has announced the promotion of Ryan Paquette as the new defensive coordinator for the football program. Paquette previously served as the defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator since arriving in 2014. In addition to his new role, Paquette will continue to serve all 31 varsity sports as the Director of Strength and Conditioning, a position he has held for the past eight years.

"The Middlebury football program is so excited to have Ryan Paquette become the new defensive coordinator," said head coach Doug Mandigo '96. For the past eight years, Ryan has been a vital part of our team's success, filling a multitude of roles at a high level. He has a tremendous skill set, including a deep passion and knowledge of football. Most importantly, Ryan cares significantly about the success of the Middlebury players on and off the field."

"It is an honor to be promoted into the defensive coordinator position," said Paquette. "I am excited about this next step and for the continued growth of this program. I want to thank Erin Quinn and Doug Mandigo for their support in this process."

Since his arrival at Middlebury in 2014, Paquette has coached 13 All-NESCAC defensive back recipients. He was also a part of the historic 2019 NESCAC Championship team, the first squad in the conference to post a 9-0 mark.

Paquette began his collegiate coaching career in 2008, serving as an assistant football coach at Salve Regina University for five years. He was the defensive coordinator at Maine Maritime Academy for two years before coming to Middlebury.
