Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth At CCC Championship

BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott women's cross country team finished fourth overall out of eight teams at the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, hosted by Roger Williams University (RWU), on Saturday morning at Colt State Park.

RWU claimed its first CCC title since 2010 with a one-point victory, 40-41, over the University of New England (UNE), who was looking for its eighth straight conference championship today. Following RWU (40) and UNE (41) was Salve Regina (63), Endicott (110), Gordon (118), Western New England (149), Curry (229), and Nichols (242).

Meanwhile, individually for the Gulls, Holly Fossa (Essex, Mass.) led the way for the team finishing seventh overall and claim CCC All-Conference honors with a time of 23:29.28. Runners who place inside the top-15 earn CCC All-Conference accolades.

After Fossa, Endicott saw Haley Marek (Westhampton, Mass.), Julia Adrian (Noank, Conn.), Gabrielle Rabito (Woburn, Mass.), and Sophia Conde (Bedford, Mass.) come in 19th (24:57.79), 26th (25:13.07), 27th (25:16.43), and 34th (25:50.79), respectively.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Fossa claimed her first career CCC All-Conference honor.
  • The women's cross country program also received the CCC Team Sportsmanship Award.

Endicott will travel to Brunswick, Maine for the NCAA DIII New England Regionals on Saturday, November 16 (time TBD).
