Women’s Cross Country Shines At Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H. – The Endicott women's cross country team saw eight student-athletes register a collegiate best (CB) or personal record (PR) en route to a ninth place finish out of 18 teams at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Williams took the top spot in the meet behind a team score of 37 points, while Wellesley (75), Brandeis (131), Westfield State (131), and Wheaton (185) rounded out the top-5.

From there, the top-10 included Middlebury (187), Keene State (206), Colby-Sawyer (258), Endicott (279), and Babson (292).

Individually, for the Gulls, Holly Fossa (Essex, Mass.) led the squad with a collegiate best time of 19:35.7 (33rd overall) on Keene' fast-paced 5-kilometer course.

Laura Pomeroy (Windham, N.H.) followed in 48th place with a time of 20:01.0 (PR), while Julia Adrian (Noank, Conn.) came in 69th place (20:32.4, CB) and Gabrielle Rabito (Woburn, Mass.) finished in 71st place (20:35.7, PR).

Haley Marek (Westhampton, Mass.) concluded the top-5 with a time of 20:59.8 (92nd overall).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Sophia Conde (Bedford, Mass.), Julia Sheetz (Waterbury, Conn.), and Sarah Matys (Holden, Mass.) all set personal records. Conde ran a time of 21:21.7 (104th overall), while Sheetz posted a time of 22:23.8 (134th) and Matys came in at 22:27.5 (135th). 
  • Madeleine Keefe (Nashua, N.H.) rounded out the list of individual highlights with a collegiate-best time of 21:46.8 (117th).
  • The gap between Endicott's top-5 runners was 1:24.58.
  • Notable teams the Gulls beat today included Regis (11th, 318), who won the Endicott Invitational, and conference foe Gordon (14th, 344).

Endicott returns to action on Saturday, October 19 at the Suffolk University Invitational, hosted at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts, at 2:30 PM.
