Women’s Cross Country Finishes Second In Strong Showing At Endicott Invitational

TOPSFIELD, Mass - The Endicott women's cross country team finished second overall out of seven teams on Saturday morning at Bradley Palmer State Park in their second-ever home meet. 

Regis led the way with 47 points, while Endicott followed closely behind with 56 points. Meanwhile, Salve Regina (58), Emmanuel (80), Emerson (97), Mass. Maritime (175), and Nichols (193) rounded out the remainder of the non-alumni scoring teams.

Individually for the Gulls, Holly Fossa (Essex, Mass.) paced the team finishing fourth overall (20:30) on the 5-kilometer course. Just behind Fossa was Laura Pomeroy (Windham, NH) who finished sixth overall (20:58), while the rest of Endicott's top-5 included Julia Adrian (Noank, Conn.), Gabrielle Rabito (Woburn, Mass.), and Haley Marek (Westhampton, Mass.) who placed 13th (21:33), 14th (21:36), and 19th (22:01), respectively.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Endicott's top-5 runners all finished among the top-20 overall.
  • The Gulls defeated conference foe Salve Regina for the second time this season.
  • This is the second year Endicott has hosted this event, which saw an increase in participating schools from four to seven.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will travel to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. on Sunday, September 22. The Gulls will participate in the York College Invitational which is scheduled to begin at 10 AM.
