Women’s Cross Country Turns In 21st Place Finish At James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott women's cross country team placed 21st overall out of 41 teams on Saturday afternoon at the James Earley Invitational, held at Stanley Park.

The University of New England (UNE) took top honors in the meet with 65 points, while Tufts University finished second overall (84 points), and Keene State College ranked third (208 points).

Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.) ranked first in the Gulls' top-5 with a time of 24:01.06 (52nd overall) on the 6-kilometer layout, while Kiera Malone (Woburn, Mass.) checked in at 24:05.95 (61st overall), and Laura Pomeroy (Windham, N.H.) ran a time of 24:59.09 (112th overall).

Hannah Mason (Deerfield, N.H.) and Kelly O'Neill (Cumberland, R.I.) rounded out Endicott's top-5 with times of 25:52.24 (198th) and 26:01.19 (209th), respectively.

"The ladies improved their times from their previous meet at Bowdoin and fought through a fast race in a large field," said Endicott women's cross country head coach Spencer Lange. "It was good experience for them to run together and fight for spots in such a big race. Their confidence is up right now and they are focused on some fine tuning over the next few weeks leading up to conference championships."

  • Endicott's entire top-5 ran season best times for a 6-kilometer course today.
  • Mason highlighted the group by dropping nearly two minutes off her time from Bowdoin (27:03.6).
  • Malone nearly dropped a minute off her time from Bowdoin (25:03.9) as well.
