Holly Rigoli Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT WOMEN'S T&F/XC TEAMS

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior Holly Rigoli (Waltham, Mass.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Women's Track & Field/Cross Country District 1 first team, as announced by the organization earlier today. The NCAA Division III District 1 team includes all schools in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Rigoli is the first student-athlete from the Endicott men's or women's cross country programs to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Rigoli, who compiled a 3.90 GPA as an accounting major with a minor in psychology during her time at Endicott, also is the first student-athlete in women's cross country program history to earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

Along with those academic merits, Rigoli is a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference and Endicott Academic Varsity Club selection, and a multiple Dean's List honoree. Rigoli also earned two scholarships during her time at Endicott – the Presidential Academic Scholarship and the Helen Young-Post Scholarship – and was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, a peer tutor, and worked in the Endicott Registrar Office. Rigoli's internships included stops at Gulman, & Company LLP (audit/tax intern) and the City of Waltham Purchasing Department.

Athletically, Rigoli placed 41st overall at the 2015 CCC Championships with a time of 25:30.54 on the 6-kilometer course, and produced a career-best time of 21:11.75 on the 5-kilometer course at the James Early Invitational October 10, 2015.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances. First-Team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

CoSIDA, which began its recognition of NCAA scholar-athletes in the 1950's, has honored more than 15,000 deserving athletes across all divisions in 12 sports. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
