BEVERLY, Mass. - Following the opening weekend of play for the Endicott women's volleyball team, seniors Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) and Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Libero of the Week, respectively, as was announced by the Conference office earlier today.

For Gifford, the Player of the Week honor came following a 2-0 weekend in which she averaged 11.86 assists/set, 2.57 digs/set and 1.29 kills/set. The reigning CCC Player of the Year guided the Endicott offense to a .266 average for the weekend, while her defensive efforts helped limit the opposition to a combined .165 average. Gifford started the year with a double-double (35 assists - 12 digs) against Worcester St. before posting 48 assists, six digs and five kills in the 3-1 win over WPI. This is Gifford's third career CCC Player of the Week nod.

For Kennedy, the Libero of the Week nod came after the senior was dominant defensively, posting 36 digs in the team's 2-0 weekend. The Andover, Mass. native averaged 5.14 digs/set for the week, finishing with 16 in the sweep over Worcester St., and registering 20 in the 3-1 win over WPI. The reigning CCC Libero of the Year has been named CCC Libero of the Week nine times now in her standout career.

The duo will lead the Gulls tonight as they welcome the Engineers of MIT to the Nest for Endicott's home opener. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
