Women’s Volleyball Sweeps UNE, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team took down the University of New England (UNE) by a 3-0 score (25-19, 25-12, 25-18) on Wednesday night inside MacDonald Gymnasium.

Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) led the charge for the Gulls with 15 kills (match-high) and 12 kills, respectively. Meanwhile, Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) facilitated the offense with a match-high 43 assists on 91 attempts (.473).

Defensively, Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) paced Endicott with 12 digs (match-high). Remi Quesnelle (Sunderland, Mass.) also added 11 digs, while Nichole Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) and Mancini compiled eight digs apiece.

Tonight's match only featured two lead changes and 14 tied scores.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • McAvoy posted a season-high .611 hitting percentage on 18 attempts (min. 10 attempts).
  • Endicott improved to 7-4 at home.
  • The Gulls are now 25-3 all-time against UNE, and have not lost to the Nor'easters since 2012.
  • Five out of six of Amanda Gilbert's (Hopkinton, Mass.) receptions correlated in kills (.833).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (15-10, 4-1 CCC) travels to Western New England this Saturday at 2 PM. UNE (8-15, 1-4 CCC) visits Roger Williams this Saturday at 1 PM.
