CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. - After a week that saw the Endicott women's volleyball team knock off the No. 2 ranked team in New England with a 3-0 sweep over Springfield, Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) and Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) have been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Libero and Player of the Week, respectively.

For Kennedy, the Libero of the Week nod is her fifth of the season. The junior led the Gulls defensively in every match, including twice eclipsing the 20 dig plateau. In the team's five set loss to CCC rival Roger Williams, Kennedy went for 22 digs and five assists. The junior followed that up with a 26 dig effort in the team's 3-1 loss to Bowdoin, the No. 3 ranked team in New England. On Saturday, the Gulls claimed a 3-0 sweep over Springfield as Kennedy picked up 14 digs before closing the week with a 15 dig effort against UMass Boston.

Mancini's Player of the Week honor is the third of the season for the reigning CCC Player of the Year. The outside led Endicott offensively for the week, averaging 3.38 kills/set, .25 aces/set and 3.8 points/set while also adding 2.88 digs/set on the defensive side. In the team's sweep of Springfield, Mancini posted 16 kills and eight digs. The senior also posted two double-doubles on the week, starting with a 14 kill, 19 dig effort against Roger Williams, while also adding a 17 kill, 12 dig performance against Bowdoin.

The women have four regular season matches left in 2018 before postseason play gets underway. Endicott will return to action on Wednesday when they play host to the University of New England, with first serve set for 7:00 PM.
