CCC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Following a 2-1 week that saw the Gulls claim wins over Lawrence and Skidmore, Endicott senior Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) and junior Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Libero of the Week, respectively.

Mancini, who is the reigning CCC Player of the Year, was unstoppable in the opening week as she hit .378 while averaging 4.7 kills/set, 1.9 digs/set and 0.6 blocks/set. The outside opened her 2018 campaign with a double-double in the team's 3-1 setback to Wellesley, posting 15 kills and 10 digs. She followed that up with 11 kills and a .500 average in just two sets against Lawrence before finishing the week with 21 kills on 39 attempts and a .462 average with eight digs in the 3-1 win over Skidmore. This is Mancini's fourth Player of the Week honor.

Kennedy, dawning the starting libero jersey for the first time in her career, averaged an impressive 5 digs/set throughout the opening three matches. The Andover native picked up 16 digs in the setback to Wellesley before posting 18 in the three set sweep over Lawrence. The junior then capped the week with a 21 dig effort in the win against Skidmore. Her defensive efforts were key in limiting opponents to a .131 hitting percentage in the three matches. This marks Kennedy's first Libero of the Week nod.
