CCC QUARTERFINALS: No. 2 Endicott Set to Host No. 7 Gordon on Tuesday Night

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team has been named the #2 seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament which begins with quarterfinal play tomorrow.

THE MATCHUP

Endicott finished the regular season with an overall record of 19-9 with just one blemish in CCC play, finishing with a conference record of 8-1. The women will host seventh-seeded Gordon on Tuesday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m. in MacDonald Gymansium. When the two teams met in the regular season at the beginning of October at Gordon, the Gulls returned home with a 3-0 sweep (recap here).

POSTSEASON HISTORY 

Endicott has qualified for the CCC tournament every year since joining the conference back in 1999. The women have claimed five conference titles over that 18 year span, the last of which came last season. With head coach Tim Byram at the helm, Endicott has produced a 358-264 (.576) record overall, including a conference record of 130-28 (.823), and five CCC titles in his 18 year tenure.

NO. 2 ENDICOTT (19-9, 8-1 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

The Gulls come into the CCC quarterfinal round after taking down Eastern Nazarene (3-1) and Rivier (3-0) on Saturday as part of Endicott's Homecoming Weekend and Senior Day celebration. Leading the team with 383 kills on the season is Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.).

NO. 7 GORDON (15-12, 4-5 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

The Scots enter the CCC Quarterfinals after a 3-2 loss to Regis ended their regular season. They are led by sophomore Amanda Snyder (San Jose, Calif.) who finished with 325 kills in regular season play.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The winner of the contest will move onto the CCC semifinals, which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the highest remaining seeds. The championship game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 and the CCC Tournament champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
