Women's Volleyball Pegged as Top Team in CCC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Endicott women's volleyball team was voted to finish first by the leagues 10 head coaches in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll, which was announced Wednesday.

The Gulls, who enter 2017 as the defending CCC Champions, garnered 95 total points, including six out of ten first place votes. Roger Williams was close behind in second place with 91 points while earning the remaining four first place votes.

Western New England (76 points) and Salve Regina (68 points) took the No. 3 and No.4 spots to round out the top four selections.

Wentworth (58 points) came in fifth, while Gordon was one point behind in the sixth slot with 57 points. Finishing out the poll were University of New England (45 points), Curry (27 points), Eastern Nazarene (20 points), and Nichols (13 points).

Endicott begins the 2017 season on Friday, Sept. 1 when they play Emmanuel at 5 p.m. during the Springfield College Invitational.
