Gulls Sweep Weekly All-CCC Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Following the week in which the Gulls posted three consecutive sweeps in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament to win the championship, the women's volleyball team swept the final CCC Volleyball Weekly Awards of the 2016 season.

The Gulls saw Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) earn Player of the Week, Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) earn Libero of the Week, and Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) earn Rookie of the Week honors after the trio led Endicott to the fifth CCC title in program history.

CCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tori McIntyre | Sr. | OH | San Diego, Calif.

For McIntyre, the honor came following a week in which she led the team in kills (43), kills/set (4.78), hitting percentage (.370), points (47) and points/set (5.22) while also finishing second in digs (28) and digs/set (3.11). The CCC Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team player, who has now been named Player of the Week four times, eclipsed two career milestones during the championship run, recording both her 1,300th kill and 1,300th dig over the CCC Tournament. Her final kill in the team's 3-0 sweep over Western New England gives her exactly 1,300 for her career while she picked up her 1,300th dig in the team's semifinal sweep of Salve Regina.

CCC LIBERO OF THE WEEK

Erika Trudon | Sr. | L | Coventry, Conn.

For Trudon, her fourth Libero of the Week honor comes following a week in which she eclipsed the 1,400 dig plateau, moving into sixth on the all-time career list at Endicott. Trudon, who was named to the All-CCC Third Team, led the team in digs for the week, finishing with 38 in her three matches. The senior co-captain averaged 4.22 digs/set for the week including 14 in the team's 3-0 sweep of Western New England to claim the program's first title since 2008.

CCC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Zoey Gifford | Fr. | S | Natick, Mass.

Gifford, who earlier in the week was named to the All-CCC Third Team, picked up her second Rookie of the Week honor of the season. Operating in a 6-2 system, the freshman finished the Tournament with 53 assists in the three matches for a 5.89 assist/set average. Gifford also picked up 22 digs for a 2.44 dig/set average while she helped guide the Gulls to a .302 hitting percentage as a team.
