Dolan Receives Invitation to the 2013 NEWVA Senior Classic

NEW LONDON, N.H.- Following a season in which she led the Gulls in kills and eclipsed a personal milestone of 1,000 career kills, senior Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) has been invited to compete in the 2013 NEWVA Senior Classic.  The Classic will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8th on the campus of UMass Boston.

The yearly event includes the region's top seniors as they compete in various skills competitions which lead into the afternoon's all-star match.  In addition to being named to the Senior Classic, Dolan, an outside, was also named All-NEWVA Honorable Mention.  Dolan finished her Endicott career with 1,096 kills, the sixth highest career total in Endicott career history.  Her 407 kills on the season move her into sole possession of fourth place on the all-time Endicott single season rankings.  She also came within one kill of breaking an Endicott record for kills in a match as she put up 25 against St. Anselm in a five set victory.

The Gulls wrapped up their 2013 season with a 23-16 record overall, an appearance in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship match and a trip to the ECAC semifinals.  2013 was highlighted by a win over Roger Williams on Homecoming Weekend as the visiting Hawks entered the match ranked #22 nationally and with an 19-0 record.  Behind strong play from Dolan, the Gulls took the match in a five set thriller as the senior posted a match high 18 kills.
