Trudon Named CCC Libero of the Week for Third Time

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Freshman Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Libero of the Week for the third time this season.  The Gulls went 2-3 on the week with a win over the #12 team in New England, Babson, being the highlight of the UMass Boston Invitational.

Trudon set a personal record against Colby-Sawyer as she picked up 31 digs in the four set loss.  She then nearly duplicated that mark as she picked up 30 in a four set loss to Haverford.  For the two matches, she avereaged 7.5 digs per set or better.  Trudon played a pivotal role in Endicott's comeback victory over Babson on day two of the UMass Boston Invitational.  The freshman recorded 20 digs as the Gulls came back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Beavers.  Trudon also recorded 19 in a four set victory over the host Beacons of UMass Boston.

For the week, the libero notched 117 digs and 15 aces to add to her team leading 49 on the year.  Trudon averaged 5.57 digs per set on the week and is now averaging 3.97 per set on the season.  She is also second in the CCC with 4.45 digs per set while recording 98 total digs in conference play compared to the second highest total of 65.  

Trudon and the Gulls return to action Thursday when they host NCAA DII St. Anselm's at 7 p.m.  Endicott then travels to Salem State for a tri-match with the Vikings and MCLA.
