Gulls Fall in Invitational Finale 3-0 to Bowdoin

BEVERLY, Mass.-  Endicott was able to bounce back from a rough offensive outing against Eastern and muster together a stronger output but it still proved not to be enough as Bowdoin swept the host Gulls 3-0.  Endicott was led by senior All-Tournament Team member Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) who had arguably her best performance of the weekend.  Even with the performance, the Gulls fell in straight sets, 25-16, 25-20 and 25-22.

Dolan led the team with 10 error-free swings on 25 attempts for a sparkling .400 hitting percentage.  She also picked up two assist blocks in the losing effort.  Sophomore Mackenzie Guerre tied for second on the team with five kills as she hit at a .308 clip and racked up one solo and two assist blocks.  Guerre also chipped in with two aces and four digs.  Freshman Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) finished the match with five kills while hitting .200.  Jackie Cone led the defense as she totaled 13 digs in the three set match to continue her solid all-around play.  

Bowdoin was led all match by All-Tournament setter Sophia Cornew (Portola Valley, Calif.) who racked up an impressive 31 assists.  The senior also picked up two aces and five digs on the match to improve the team to 3-1 in the tournament and on the season.  The Polar Bears also received an outstanding offensive effort from freshman Clare Geyer (Mill Valley, Calif.) as the middle tallied a match-high 10 kills for a match-high .588 hitting percentage.  Geyer also picked up two aces and five digs.  

With the loss, Endicott falls to 1-5 on the season and are now off until Wednesday when they host Trinity (Conn.) at 7 p.m.  Bowdoin is off until Tuesday when they travel to Biddeford, Maine to take on the University of New England at 7 p.m.
