Women's Volleyball Honored with AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky.-  The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the list of teams that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 season on Wednesday and the Endicott women's volleyball team received recognition for the first time in program history.  2012-13 saw a record of 622 teams receive this honor after their collective excellence in the classroom.

The team academic award honors collegiate and high school teams that consistently achieve excellence in the classroom during the entire year and requires that teams maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.  Endicott, which uses a 4.0 scale, has now had four programs honored with team academic awards from their respective coaches associations for the 2012-13 school year as the newest member women's volleyball joins field hockey and men's and women's soccer.

With preseason just 11 days away, all four of these programs are looking to repeat not only their excellence on the field but also their continued excellence in the class room.
