Gulls earn top seed, open playoffs on Tuesday
BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College has claimed the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) volleyball championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Tuesday. The Gulls (18-15 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a 9-1 record in TCCC play. Endicott will host \#8 seed Regis College (8-25 overall, 2-8 TCCC) in a quarterfinal contest Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Other quarterfinal contests slated for Tuesday include \#2 seed Western New England College (24-8, 9-1) hosting \#7 seed Gordon College (8-24, 4-6), \#3 seed Colby-Sawyer College (18-12, 8-2) hosting \#6 seed Salve Regina University (10-19, 5-5), and \#4 seed Roger Williams University (18-10, 8-2) hosting \#5 seed University of New England (11-15, 6-4). All four quarterfinal matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.

TCCC tiebreaker rules were used to determine the \#1, \#3 and \#8 seeds. Both Endicott and Western New England finished with 9-1 conference records. Endicott earned the \#1 seed based on a 3-2 victory when the teams met on September 19. Additionally, Colby-Sawyer and Roger Williams both finished with 8-2 conference records. Colby-Sawyer was awarded the \#3 seed based on a 3-2 victory in the teams’ October 17 matchup. Finally, Regis and Wentworth both concluded conference play with 2-8 records. Regis earned the \#8 seed by virtue of a 3-1 victory in the team’s October 31 match.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Thursday, November 5 at the sites of the higher seed. Matches are tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the higher seed.
