Endicott tops Westfield, falls to Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College split a pair of matches at the Tom Hay Invitational Tournament hosted by Springfield College on Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mass. The Gulls posted a 3-1 win over Westfield State and then fell to Springfield College, 3-1. Endicott currently stands at 13-8 overall.

The Blue and Green opened the morning with a 25-17, 25-20, 16-25, and 25-10 win over Westfield State. \#Steph Wiese\# (Higganum, Conn.) notched 12 kills while \#Brittany Phillips\# (Sudbury, Mass.) had 16 kills and nine digs in the win. \#Ally Murphy\# (Gilford, N.H.) had 22 assists and two aces and freshman \#Mollie Postma\# (Everett, Wash.) dished out 16 helpers. Freshman libero \#Ashley Norley\# (Sudbury, Mass.) posted 11 digs in the winning effort.

In its second match of the day, Endicott was upended by Springfield College, 3-1. The Pride used game scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-13, and 25-20 to secure the four-set victory. \#Brittany Phillips\# continued her stellar day with 19 kills, 16 digs and two aces. \#Steph Wiese\# had nine kills and five aces while \#Ally Murphy\# had 21 assists. \#Ashley Norley\# finished the match with nine digs and classmate \#Sarah Van Haaren\# (Warwick, R.I.) had five blocks for the Blue and Green.

Endicott’s \#Steph Wiese\#, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, is now just five kills away from tying the program’s all-time career kills record (Sarah Moore, 2003-06, 1,305 kills). Wiese will look to break the record on Tuesday night when the Gulls host TCCC opponent Regis College at 7:00 p.m.
