Gulls Control Eastern Nazarene in Three Game Sweep

QUINCY, MA - Junior Casey Ward (Monroe, CT/Masuk) unleashed a 17-serve run in a, 30-7, game one win to help lead Endicott to a three-game sweep of Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday night in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Endicott dictated play in the opening game, defeating the Crusaders 30-7. Junior Casey Ward rattled off a 17-serve run, including three aces, to guide the Gulls to the victory. The Blue and Green showed no let-up in game two, downing ENC, 30-24. Endicott completed the sweep as they blew by the hosts, 30-17, for the match winner.

Hayley Janelle (Madbury, NH/Oyster River) was strong upfront for the Gulls, earning 11 kills, five aces and five blocks in the win. Steph Wiese (Higganum, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) continued her strong play, notching nine kills for Endicott. Senior outside hitter Kim Marschner (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) played excellent defense for the visitors, notching 16 digs; while classmate Meghan Hall (Santa Cruz, CA/Aptos) handed out 34 assists. Ward ended the night with a total of five aces.

Endicott (17-7, 6-0) returns to action on Saturday as they partake in the Wellesley College Invitation Tournament. The Gulls will open the event with an 11:00 AM match against the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
