Gulls Dominate at Regis Tri-Match

WESTON, MA - The Endicott College women's volleyball team improved its record to 8-3 on Saturday, as the Gulls took two matches at a tri-match in Weston, MA.

In the morning match, Endicott defeated TCCC opponent Regis College, 3-0, for the Gulls first Conference win of the season. The Blue and Green made quick work of the Pride, winning 30-13, 30-18, and 30-17 in the three-game sweep.

Hayley Janelle (Madbury, NH/Oyster River) led the way for the visiting Gulls, as she had 13 kills and a near .500 hitting percentage in the winning effort. Amy Grigg (Vernon, CT/Rockville) was also a force upfront for Endicott, as the freshman contributed nine kills and three blocks for the Gulls. Casey Ward (Monroe, CT/Masuk) dished out 28 assists and racked-up 6 digs for Endicott.

In the second match of the day, Endicott defeated Anna Maria, 30-16, 30-7, and 30-11, for the 3-0 win. Freshman Allison Murphy (Gilford, NH/Guilford) set a program record for aces in a three-game match as she notched 12 in the victory. Classmate Amy Grigg hit an unbelievable .786 at the Endicott net, nailing home 12 kills. Fellow-freshman Brittany Phillips (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln Sudbury) also contributed an impressive nine kills in the winning effort.

Endicott (8-3 overall, 2-0 TCCC) returns to action on Tuesday evening as they travel to Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. Match time is slotted for 6:00 PM.
