CAMBRIDGE, MA - Endicott College lost a marathon five-game match to Bates (3-2), then was tripped up by Emmanuel, 3-0, in the second round of the MIT Invitational Saturday.

The Gulls took the first two games from Bates (30-19, 30-26) before losing 30-23, 30-28 and 15-11 in the final three contests. The match did not leave much left in Endicott's tank and Emmanuel took advantage, wining 30-28, 30-23 and 30-26.

Endicott (7-8 overall, 1-1 CCC) returns to CCC action Wednesday at Eastern Nazarene (7:00 p.m.)

Freshman outside hitter Kaylee Krom (Strasburg, CO/Strasburg) had 20 kills and four aces versus Bates, while tri-captain Sara Moore (Guilford, CT/Guilford) had eight kills and five aces. Senior tri-captain Killeen Ross (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added eight kills and freshman Brittany Nolan (Monroe, CT/Masuk) led the team with 14 digs.

Moore came through with 12 kills and another five blocks versus Emmanuel. Krom also had a strong second match, adding eight kills, seven digs and four aces, while Ross had eight kills and seven digs. Nolan also dug up seven balls.
