Waltham, MA - The Gulls went 1-1 today in the Brandeis Invitational and finished the tourney with a 3-1 record. In the first match, the Gulls fell to Plymouth State in a five game, 2 hour and 20 minute battle 2-3 (27-30, 30-28, 30-26, 28-30, 9-15). The team then showed some character by immediately putting the loss behind them and defeating the Warriors of Eastern Conn. State 3-1 (30-23, 30-19, 22-30, 30-26).

Playing PSU for the third time this season, the Gulls came out flat in game one hitting .000 as a team with 12 kills and 12 errors before settling down to play some ball. Morgan Tranquist led the team with 19 kills and was followed closely by Killeen Ross who contributed 16. Meghan Hall picked up a double-double with 55 assists and 17 digs. Patty Mikan had a team high 5 aces while contributing 10 kills. On Defense, Ross led the way with 32 digs followed by Katie Lorinovich's 23.

With the ECSU match schedule to start 10 minutes before the PSU match even ended, the team was able to put the loss behind them quickly. Ross knocked down 12 kills to lead the Gulls and Hall was one kill away from picking up her first triple-double with 9 kills, 35 assists and 16 digs.

Individual and team season records continued to fall today. Both Sara Moore's 302 and Killeen Ross' 295 kill totals surpassed the previous record for kills in a season set by Mikan at 292 in 2002. Meghan Hall has upped her assist total to 991 for the season. Katie Lorinovich's 496 digs surpasses Ross' previous total of 476 set in 2003. While, Morgan Tranquist's 373.5 points surpassed Mikan's 372 point total in 2002.

Team records that the Gulls have set records for include kills - 1472, kills per game - 13.5, attack attempts - 3,889, hitting % - .235, assists - 1,252, assist per game - 11.49, solo blocks - 71, points - 1,972 and points per game -18.09.

The Gulls finish the regular season with an overall record of 26-6 and 9-0 in the CCC and look to continue their record breaking run in the CCC Tournament this week. As the \#1 Seed, they will host the \#8 seed, Regis College in the quarterfinal match at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
