Springfield, MA - Endicott continued their record setting season today, winning the Springfield College Tom Hay Invitational. The Gulls faced a tough road having to face host SC in the first match of the day but the team showed they were equal to the challenge winning 3-2 (30-26, 26-30, 22-30, 33-31, 17-15). Endicott then defeated Keene State 3-0 (30-25, 30-23, 30-17) to advance to the Championship match with Plymouth State. In the Final, EC defeated PSU 3-0 (30-17, 30-28, 33-31) to clinch the Championship!

While EC relied on strong team play for their success, there were some terrific individual performances today as well. In the SC match, Morgan Tranquist led the team with 15 kills, 3 aces and 20 digs while Killeen Ross picked up 13 kills and 26 digs. Libero, Katie Lorinovich led the defense with 30 digs and Meghan Hall dished out 50 assists.

In the Keene State match, Tranquist and Ross again led the offense with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Hall had 36 assists, 4 aces and 13 digs. Lorinovich picked up 12 digs and Sara Moore added 9 kills and 3 blocks.

In the Championship, Sara Moore led the team with 14 kills and 2 blocks. Ross picked up her third double-digit kill match with 11 and Susan Teta added some timely kills at the end of games 2 and 3 to help finish the match. Hall handed out 42 assists and added 4 more aces. Tranquist, Lorinovich and Kristen Altieri all had double-digit digs with 14, 13 and 10 respectively.

Katie Lorinovich and Meghan Hall both received honors for their terrific play. Lorinovich was named to the All-Tournament Team and Hall was named the Tournament MVP!

The Gulls will return to action Thursday, as they will travel to Brunswick, ME for a 7:00 PM match with Bowdoin College.
