Gulls Win Sixth Straight Defeating PSU 3-1

Beverly, MA - Endicott's assault on their record books continued tonight in the Post Center as the Gulls defeated Plymouth State 3-1 (32-30, 30-19, 12-30, 30-14). This is the Gulls sixth straight victory and PSU now becomes the third opponent in their past 5 matches that the Gulls have defeated for the first time. Tonight's victory over PSU, who is currently ranked \#7 on the current NEWVA Poll, also marks the highest ranked team EC has ever defeated.

Trailing late in game one, the Gulls rallied from 2 down to win 32-30. Then with momentum on their side, EC came out firing in game 2 getting out to a 12-1 start and coasting to a 30-19 victory. In the third game PSU relied on strong serving and Endicott's unforced errors to turn the tide in their favor as won easily 30-12. The forth game saw the Gulls regain their composure as they again got out of the gate quick and ended the match with a 30-14 victory.

Katie Lorinovich provided a solid base for the Gulls as she anchored both the serve receive and defense, tying the school record for digs in a 4-game match with 29. On offense, Killeen Ross led the team with 14 kills while Morgan Tranquist and Patty Mikan each chipped in 10 kills. Meghan Hall again ran the team well handing out 43 assists. Sara Moore, Susan Teta and Tranquist all finished with 4 blocks each.

The Gulls will return to action this Thursday as they travel to Standish, ME to compete with Saint Joseph's College at 7:00 PM. Then the team will then return home to host a CCC Trimatch this Saturday with Anna Maria and Roger Williams at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
