Beverly, MA - Endicott made a successful cross-town trip today to face CCC rival Gordon College in their conference opener. The Gulls had never defeated the Fighting Scots of Gordon during Coach Byram's five-year tenure but even a 30-minute delay at the start of the match could not slow the Gulls down as they defeated the Scots 3-0 (30-14, 30-19, 30-20). In the second match of the day, Endicott dispatched a streaky Wentworth team 3-0 (30-23, 30-7, 30-25) to improve to 2-0 in CCC play.

Against Gordon, EC came out firing and never let up. Patty Mikan, Morgan Tranquist and Susan Teta each had double-digit kills with 10 while Sara Moore chipped in 9 and the team hit an amazing .404 combined. Meghan Hall again ran the offense well distributing 34 assists and leading the team with 11 digs. Tranquist and Moore also combined for 7 blocks while Hall and Teta each had 3 aces.

In the second match, EC picked up right where they left off. Hall again distributed 34 assists to Teta, Mikan and Moore who had 12, 11 and 9 kills respectively. Katie Lorinovich led the team with 19 digs while Killeen Ross contributed 11. Krystan Sylva and Kristen Altieri also came off the bench to contribute some timely defense to the effort.

The Gulls will return to action this Tuesday at 7:00 PM, as they will host the Plymouth State Cougars in nonconference action. The Gulls will be riding a season high 5-match win streak in the contest with the Cougars, who currently ranked \#7 in New England on the latest NCAA Poll.
