Gulls go 1-1 on first day at Dominican Invitational

In the first match of the Dominican Invitational the Gulls were paired up with host Dominican University. Despite strong performances from Sara Moore and Meghan Hall the Gulls fell 0-3. The team did not have much time to regroup as they immediately had to play Wheaton (IL) where Endicott picked up their first win of the season in an exciting 3-2 win.

In the first match, the Gulls were led at the net by Susan Teta's and Sara Moore's 5 and 4 kills respectively . Freshman Meghan Hall ran the offense well dishing out 22 assists while also totalling 17 digs.

The second match saw the Gulls jump out to a 2-0 lead and then have to hold on to win 15-11 in the fifth game. After winning the first game 30-27 the team rallied from 12 points down to win game 2 30-28. Games 3 and 4 lacked the consistency of the first two but the team refocused well in the fifth to close out the match. Killeen Ross led the offense with 18 kills while middles Sara Moore and Susan Teta knocked down 14 and 11 kills respectively. Krystan Sylva ran the offense well handing out 45 assists. The team had two players with 30+ digs with Libero Katie Lorinovich picking up 34 and Meghan Hall playing in the opposite spot picking up 32.

The Gulls will wrap up their tirp to Chicago tomorrow with 2 matches. At 9 AM the team will face Illinois Institute of Technology and then their opponent at 1 PM will be based on their AM results. The Gulls will kick off their New England schedule this Thursday when they will host cross town rival Salem State at 7 PM.
