Gulls Fall in First Game to Aurora, 3-0

The women's volleyball team kicked off the Endicott 2004-2005 sports season in Chicago last night. The Gulls traveled to Aurora University for their first of five games out-of-region.

The Gulls, although competitive, fell 3-0 to Aurora (30-24, 30-28, 30-21). In their first match of the season, the Gulls fell behind 12-1 but despite rallying back they eventually lost 30-24. Aurora won a tight second match behind junior Kayla Holmbeck's 20 kills and 15 digs for the night.

The Gulls front line was led by sophomore Sara Moore (12 kills, 5 blocks) and senior Susan Teta (9 kills, 5 blocks). Senior Katie Lorinovich led the defense with 25 digs and setter grad student Krystan Sylva added 22 assists.

The Gulls next game is Friday afternoon at 3pm in the Dominican University Invitational versus host Dominican U. Endicott will play twice Friday and two times Saturday before returning home.
