Endicott Finishes Tied  for Third in Crabtree Classic

The Gulls went 2-1 on Saturday at the Crabtree Classic, hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University, to finish tied for third place. In the quarterfinals of the tournament, Endicott overcame Johnson & Wales University (ranked 2nd in their pool at the end of pool play) in three straight games. In the semifinals, the Gulls fell to Brandeis University (currently ranked \#4 in New England) for the second time this weekend and third times this season. Brandeis went on to defeat host team, ECSU 3-1 in the finals.

Endicott played strong against Brandeis and Wheaton on Friday night behind the offense of Marisol Garcia and Susan Teta and the defense of Killeen Ross (46 total digs) and Sara Moore (15 total blocks). Against Lasall College, captains and setters, Krystan Sylva and Kristen Altieri managed the flow of the game, combining for 40 assists in 114 attempts. Sylva paced the hitters with 21 of the assists.

Moore was chosen to the All-Tournament Team after her outstanding play in all five tournament matches. She totaled 28 blocks and 39 kills (hitting .283%) in 19 games. Also making an impact for the Gulls was Morgan Tranquist who contributed with solid offense all weekend hitting .238% (28k-9e/80att).

Endicott returns to conference play on Wednesday, October 15 when they travel to Regis College for a 7 PM match. At the end of the week they will celebrate Homecoming Weekend with a 2 PM match against St. Joseph's College (ME).
