PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Endicott women's track and field team placed fourth overall behind five All-Conference performances at the first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championships on Saturday evening at Portsmouth High School.
Roger Williams took the team title with 191 points, while Salve Regina (173), Gordon (104), Endicott (54), Eastern Nazarene (42), and Nichols (20) followed in successive order.
Individually, Julia Jankowski (Methuen, Mass.) stood out among all of Endicott's student-athletes with All-Conference performances in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and the 4x400-meter relay.
Jankowski placed first overall in the 400 with a time of 1:02.28 (school record) and third in the 200 in 27.52 (school record). Jankowski also teamed up with Olivia Folkes (Amston, Conn.), Amelia Castelli (Scituate, R.I.), and Amanda Recupero (Ipswich, Mass.) for a third place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (4:23.63).
Student-athletes who place first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist), or third (bronze medalist) in an event earn All-Conference First Team, Second Team, and Third Team honors.
Additionally, the six CCC head coaches will vote on major postseason awards next week. Following the voting period, the conference will recognize a Runner of the Year, Rookie Runner of the Year, Field Performer of the Year, Field Rookie of the Year, and a Senior Scholar-Athlete. Coaches will also be voting on winners for Coach of the Year and Team Sportsmanship.
Meanwhile, Folkes ranked second overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.67 to also claim All-Conference honors.
Kiera Malone (Woburn, Mass.) smashed the 5,000-meter run school record by crossing the finish line in 18:40.92, nearly 22-seconds faster than the previous school record, for a second place finish overall.
Endicott's 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Taylor Papa (Tolland, Conn.), Jamie Budge (Old Tappan, N.J.), Miranda Scorsome (Colchester, Vt.), and Julianne Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) ranked fourth overall in a school record time of 54.59.
Lastly, Budge rounded out Endicott's list of top-5 finishes with a fifth place showing in the 100-meter hurdles (18.26).

"It was a great day down in Rhode Island as the squad came away with several All-Conference finishes," said Endicott women's track and field head coach Spencer Lange. "They ran with a lot of heart and have come a long way since day one. To see them come together and start this program off is such a fun thing to be a part of. While the outdoor season was a quick one, they're looking forward to further developing and growing the program. The conference did a great job putting everything together today for every team involved. It was especially great to see our seniors run personal bests out there today. You can't ask for much more than that to cap off your collegiate career."
OTHER ENDICOTT HIGHLIGHTS
- Budge ranked seventh in the 100-meter dash (14.07), just ahead of Sullivan who was eighth overall (14.20).
- Sarah Matys (Holden, Mass.) produced a school record time in the 1,500-meter run (5:19.87, 6th overall), and also placed eighth overall in the 800-meter run (2:41.99).
- Castelli was sixth overall in the 400-meter hurdles (1:15.39).
- Taylor Jordan (Saco, Maine) finished sixth overall in the discus (86-feet, 3-inches, school record).
- Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.) came in 11th overall in the 3,000-meter run (12:12.42).
- Hannah Buckley (Milford, Conn.) had a school record toss of 25-feet and 9.50-inches in the shot put (14th overall) and a throw of 70-feet and 6-inches in the javelin (12th overall).
- Recupero ranked 13th overall in the long jump (14-feet, 0.25-inches), while Sullivan was 14th overall (13-feet, 11-inches).
WHAT'S NEXT
Select members of the Endicott women's track and field team will compete in the NCAA Division III New England Regional championships, hosted by MIT, from May 3-5.
