Women's Tennis Falls To Merrimack, 7-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team fell to Merrimack, 7-0, on Tuesday evening at North Andover High School.

Tonight's match was played in conjunction with NCAA Division I rules which only awards one point for winning the doubles portion of the match (best of three equals one point). This is in contrast to NCAA Division III rules which awards one point for each doubles flight won by a team.

In doubles play, Merrimack was able to take a 1-0 lead going into singles after wins at No. 1 doubles (8-2) and No. 2 doubles (8-2). Endicott's Jennifer Stone (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Clare O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.) were the lone winners for the Gulls (8-5) at No. 3 doubles.

Meanwhile, in singles action, O'Keefe lost a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 0-1 (5-10) match at the No. 6 spot to highlights the Gulls' efforts on the night.
