BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team dropped its match against Merrimack College, 5-4, in non-conference action at the South Campus Tennis Courts on Thursday evening.

Doubles action saw competitive play back-and-forth as Merrimack took the first match at the No. 2 flight (8-4), but the Gulls bounced back in the No. 3 position (8-4) thanks to the pairing of Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.) / Cara McCormack (Worcester, Mass.). Ultimately, the Warriors were able to come away with the win in doubles at the No. 1 spot (8-6) to give Merrimack a 2-1 lead headed into singles.

In singles, it was more of the same as both squads fought hard but the Warriors were able to come away with three straight victories at the No. 4 (6-2, 6-1), No. 2 (6-1, 6-2), and No. 1 (6-4, 6-2) flights to secure the match for Merrimack.

However, the Blue and Green finished strong on the day as they notched the last three wins in singles courtesy of Foley, Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas), and McCormack in the No. 6 (6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-7), No. 3 (6-3, 3-6, 10-6), and No. 5 (7-6 (7-4), 6-3) spots respectively.
