Colby-Sawyer Downs Women's Tennis, 7-2

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Endicott women's tennis team fell to Colby-Sawyer in non-conference action on Friday evening by a 7-2 score at the Kelsey Courts.

Colby Sawyer came out of doubles with a 2-1 lead with victories at the No. 1 (8-1) and No. 3 (8-5) flights and then took the next three singles matches at No. 1 (6-3, 6-3), No. 3 (6-4, 6-2), and No. 5 (6-3, 6-3) positions to seal the match for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, the Gulls two wins came courtesy of the pairing of Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) Clare O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.) who notched a dominant victory at No. 2 doubles (8-1).  In singles, Hoover earned a hard-fought win at the No. 2 position (6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (11-9)).

"This is a good starting point for the team this spring," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "We have a lot to learn, but we are definitely going to have fun with it."

Endicott (12-3) will travel to Southern New Hampshire University on Sunday, April 7 at 11:00 AM. Colby-Sawyer (11-3) travels to Springfield College on Sunday, April 7 at 12:00 PM.
