Endicott Wraps Up Play At NEWITTs

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team concluded play on day two of the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) on Saturday afternoon at the campus of Mount Holyoke College.

In the B Main Draw, Endicott's pairing of Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), and Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) fell to Mount Holyoke in doubles (8-3) and both singles rounds (Hartman, L, 6-1, 6-2 | Fitzgibbons, L, 4-6, 6-1, 10-2).

Meanwhile, in consolations play, the Gulls' pairing of Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.), Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.), and Cara McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) fell to Wheaton (Mass.) in doubles (8-3) and also in one singles matchup (Losano, L, 8-7, 8-6). However, Barmore claimed an 8-1 in her singles matchup to highlight Endicott on the day.

"It was a fun weekend for us between both days of competition," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "We will now shift our focus to getting ready for the CCC playoffs next week."

WHAT'S NEXT

Second-seeded Endicott (11-1, 6-1 CCC) will host third-seeded Gordon on Tuesday, October 16 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals at 2 PM.
