Women’s Tennis Handles Curry 9-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Curry College, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon as 12 different Gulls registered wins in the matchup against the Colonels.

In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) and Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) notched an 8-0 victory, while the duos of Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.) / Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) and Jennifer Stone (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) / Bridget Cott (Wilton, Conn.) won their matches at the No. 2 and No. 3  positions by 8-1 and 8-0 scores, respectively. 

Meanwhile, singles play featured straight-set victories from Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Clare O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.) at the No. 1 and No. 5 positions and identical 6-1, 6-0 triumphs at the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 slots from Cara McCormack (Worcester, Mass.), Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.), and Sarah Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.)

Lastly, Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.) completed the perfect day for Endicott with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 3 position.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls swept Curry for the eighth consecutive season (last non-sweep, 2010).
  • This is the first time the Endicott women's tennis program has started a season 10-0 since 2011.
  • 2011-2012 started a streak of five consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championships.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-0, 6-0 CCC) hosts Nichols College on Tuesday, October 2 at 3 PM. Curry (0-9, 0-5 CCC) takes on Wentworth next Tuesday at Regis College at 6:30 PM.
