Women’s Tennis Blanks Roger Williams, 9-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Roger Williams University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

The Gulls only dropped five games in doubles play as Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) / Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) won 8-3 at No. 1, Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) / Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) claimed an 8-2 victory at No. 2, and Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) / Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) notched a shutout at No. 3 (8-0).

In singles action, Hartman gave Endicott a 4-0 lead in the match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3, while Fitzgibbons clinched the win for the Gulls with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 5.

Endicott also saw Hoover, Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), Barnett, and Trevino win at No. 1 (6-0, 6-1), No. 6 (6-0, 6-2), No. 2 (6-2, 6-3), and No. 4 (6-4, 6-2) singles, respectively.
