CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.

In three matches played last week (9/10-16), Hoover went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles play during Endicott's 3-0 week. Hoover scored the match-clinching point at No. 2 singles in a 5-4 victory over Babson, which finished last year ranked No. 35 nationally. She won her singles match by a 7-6 (11-9), 3-6, 10-6 score after facing a narrow defeat at No. 2 doubles 8-7 (8-6) earlier in the match.

Later in the week, Hoover also claimed a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles and an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles in Endicott's conference matches against Western New England and Wentworth, respectively.

This is the second week in a row Hoover has earned a CCC weekly award as the freshman was named the CCC Player of the Week on September 10 for her efforts in matches played against Bridgewater State University and Johnson & Wales University.
