BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Western New England University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts on Senior Day.
Prior to the match, Endicott seniors Margot Andreasen (PPortland Maine), Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.), Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), Bridget Cott, (Wilton, Conn.), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.), and Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) were all honored for their contributions towards the program and the Endicott College community in a Senior Day ceremony.
In doubles action, the Gulls only lost three games as Andreasen and Cott got Endicott off on the right foot by cruising to an 8-0 win at No. 3. Meanwhile, Barmore and Rahr, and the team of Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) / Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) had victories of 8-1 and 8-2 scores at the No. 2 and No. 1 flights, respectively.
Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.) then gave the Gulls a 4-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles, while Freter clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 4 slot.
The Gulls also saw victories in singles from Barnett (No. 1, 6-1,6-1), Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.), No. 2 (6-3, 6-0), Fitzgibbons (No. 3, 6-1, 6-2), and Losano (No. 5, 6-1, 6-1).

"It was great to get the conference season started off the right way, and on such a special occasion celebrating the senior class who all picked up victories," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "We'll have a quick turnaround, however, as we prep for Wentworth tomorrow, at home, at 2 PM."

- Endicott is 5-0 in the last five meetings against Western New England.

Endicott (4-0, 1-0 CCC) plays their third match in three days tomorrow hosting Wentworth at 1 PM. Western New England (0-3, 0-2 CCC) will travel to Curry on Tuesday, September 18 for a 3:30 PM start.
