Donahue Named CNE Defensive Player of the Week
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's soccer senior defender Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.) has been named the Conference of New England (CNE) women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
In Endicott's 2-0 week (1-0 CNE), Donahue was stellar in the backfield.
The senior defender played 90 minutes in both wins against Emerson (1-0) and Wentworth (2-1). She also posted a total of four shots (one on net) and logged an assist on the week.
On Wednesday versus Emerson, she and the rest of the Gulls backs did not allow a single shot from the Lions, stifling their offense throughout the contest.
Then, on Saturday, she logged a three-shot afternoon (one on net) and set up the eventual game-winner with an assist to Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.).
This is Donahue's first career CNE Defensive Player of the Week award.
