Endicott Falls to Western New England 1-0

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team fell to Western New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Wednesday night by a 1-0 final. With the setback, the Gulls fall to 9-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in CCC play while Western New England improves to 7-8-2 overall and 3-2-1 in CCC play.

The two teams would play a scoreless opening frame, despite the Gulls holding a significant edge in shots by a 13-1 margin, two of which were on goal. The Gulls' best opportunity came off a Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) cross into the box that Larissa Cade (Middlefield, Conn.) fired on goal but it glanced off the cross bar and out. Endicott also earned seven corners in the first half to Western New England's one. 

The second half would see the Golden Bears create a bit more offense, a move that paid off in the 77th minute when the visitors scored the lone goal of the contest.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott finished with a 26-6 advantage in shots, and a 7-3 edge in shots on goal, while also earnign 14 corners to just one for the Golden Bears.
  • With the setback, Endicott is now 12-5-2 all-time against Western New England.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott is off until Tuesday when the Gulls will travel to Biddeford, Maine to take on the University of New England at 6:30 PM. Western New England returns to Springfield, Mass. to play host to Roger Williams on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
