Wentworth Earns CCC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. - For her part in leading the Endicott women's soccer team to a 2-0 week, senior Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week, as was announced by the conference office. This is the second time Wentworth has earned the honor in 2019, the first coming on September 16.

The keeper posted back-to-back shutouts last week, making a total of 10 saves to help the Gulls improve to 6-3 overall. Wentworth started the week with a four-save performance against Babson at home, a match in which the Gulls won 2-0. The senior then came up huge on Saturday, making six saves as the Gulls shutout the Fighting Scots 1-0 on Homecoming Weekend. The Taunton, Mass. native is now 6-3 on the season and has posted three shutouts.

The women head on the road for two matches ths week, starting with a 4:00 PM match on Tuesday at Bowdoin, before traveling to CCC foe Curry on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
