BEVERLY, Mass. - Following a game-winning goal over national powerhouse Ithaca in her collegiate debut, Endicott freshman Lindsey Papa (Tolland, Conn.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week as was announced today by the Conference office.
Papa netted the game-winner by lofting a shot into the top-right corner of the net from about 20 yards out after it took a high hop off the turf. Christina Bacon (Lincoln, R.I.) set up the game-winning tally with a header pass from just outside the corner of the box. The tally secured a 2-1 overtime win for the Gulls who then defeated Lasell on Sunday by a 2-0 final.
Papa and the Gulls return to action on Saturday when they take to the road to face off against the Pride of Springfield College on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
