Endicott Claims 10th Straight United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

2018-19 UNITED SOCCER COACHES COLLEGE TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the 10th straight season, the Endicott women's soccer team has received the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, as announced by the organization last week.

The United Soccer Coaches organization annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.

"We are honored to earn this award for the 10th straight season," said Endicott women's soccer head coach Jodi Kenyon. "This honor is a testament to the hard work our student-athletes put in on a daily basis not only on the field, but also in the classroom and within our community. I'm proud of this achievement and our student-athletes."

A total of 989 soccer teams (345 men, 644 women) posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year. Of that total, 255 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including Endicott.

Meanwhile, Endicott's women's soccer program has earned the distinction 12 times (2007, 2008, 2010-2019) since the award was instituted in 1996.

Last fall, the Gulls also placed 14 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference list. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status.

Endicott's 2018 season featured a 9-4-5 overall record and 6-1-1 mark in CCC play. The Gulls advanced to the CCC Semifinals for the fourth straight year and ninth time overall in the 10-year span in which Endicott has received the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award.

Along with those numbers during the aforementioned 10-year stretch, the Gulls have compiled a 130-57-24 (.673) overall record and a 76-16-5 (.809) conference record. Endicott also has won two CCC Titles during that span, appeared in the second round of the NCAA Tournament twice, reached the CCC finals four times, and captured the ECAC DIII New England Championship in 2012.

Academically, the Gulls have placed 104 student-athletes on the CCC Academic All-Conference team, while seeing four individuals receive CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District teams with one individual in that group receiving Second Team All-America honors.
