Letts and Kenyon Headline Nine All-Conference Honors for Endicott Women's Soccer

2018 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. - Kadrianna Letts (Beverly, Mass.) was named Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Jodi Kenyon was named Co-Coach of the Year as the Endicott women's soccer team received nine total honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the Office of the Commissioner. Following the regular season that saw Endicott post a 9-4-4 record overall and a record of 6-1-1 in CCC play, Endicott saw three women receive First Team honors, three receive Second Team nods, and one earn Third Team distinction. 

In addition to her CCC Defensive Player of the Year honor, Kadrianna Letts was named to the All-CCC First Team, along with midfielder Mary Verneris (Hamden, Conn.), and forward Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.). On the All-CCC Second team was forward Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.), defender Hannah Lederman (Natick, Mass.) and goalkeeper Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.). Rounding out the honors with her All-CCC Third Team nod was midfielder Chloe Waldron (Harwinton, Conn.)

KADRIANNA LETTS | BACK | SOPHOMORE | BEVERLY, MASS.

Letts' honors come during a year in which she led an Endicott defensive unit that allowed a conference best six goals in eight CCC matches. In her first year on the pitch for the Gulls, Letts made an immediate impact as Endicott allowed just 13 goals in 17 contests, also the best mark amongst all CCC teams, and includes six shutouts. With Letts anchoring the defense, the Gulls allowed more than one goal only twice, and never allowed more than two. Letts started and played in all 17 of Endicott's matches. This is the first All-CCC honor of her career.

MARY VERNERIS | MIDFIELD | SENIOR | HAMDEN, CONN.

Verneris, a senior, played a pivotal role in guiding Endicott to the top seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. The midfielder tied for the team lead in assists with four, while also contributing two goals on the season. While generating plays for the Endicott offensive attack, Verneris helped lead the Gulls to the best goal differential in the league, with +13 (19 goals for, 6 goals against). This is the second All-CCC nod of Verneris' career, as she also earned First Team honors in 2017.

HANNAH PESCI | FORWARD | JUNIOR | WINDHAM, N.H.

Pesci, a junior, helped lead an Endicott offense that scored the second-most goals in conference play with 19. The Windham, N.H. native tied for the team lead with four goals, notched two assists, and finished tied for second with 10 points. All four of Pesci's goals came against conference competition, as did one of her assists. In her first match back from injury, the junior scored a goal and assisted on the game-winner in the team's 2-1 2OT win over Curry. The forward started in all 14 of the matches she played in this fall. This is the first All-CCC nod of Pesci's career.

CATHERINE ELKAS | FORWARD | JUNIOR | HOLDEN, MASS.

Elkas, a junior, helped lead Endicott's offensive attack by scoring three goals and assisting on four more, tying for second on the roster with 10 points. Her four assists tied her for the team lead, while her three goals tied her for fifth. All three of her goals came against CCC competition, as did three of her four assists. In the team's 3-1 win over Gordon, Elkas notched a goal and an assist, for a season-best three points. The junior played in all 17 of the team's matches, logging 11 starts throughout. This is her first All-CCC honor.

HANNAH LEDERMAN | BACK | FRESHMAN | NATICK, MASS.

Lederman, a freshman, joins Kadrianna Letts as Endicott defenders to earn All-CCC honors. The freshman played in 13 matches as a freshman, starting in all. With Lederman as a big part of the Endicott back line, the Gulls allowed just 13 goals in 17 contests overall, and just six in eight conference matches, both of which stand as the best mark amongst all CCC teams. While allowing just 13 goals all year, the Gulls recorded six shutouts, the best mark among all CCC Tournament qualifying teams. This is the first All-CCC honor of her career.

KAYLA WENTWORTH | KEEPER | JUNIOR | TAUNTON, MASS.

In her first year playing for the Gulls, Wentworth has come up big, leading the Gulls to a 9-4-4 record overall while recording six shutouts. The junior made a season-high 11 saves in the team's 1-1 2OT draw against Springfield. Her goals against average of 0.72 in both overall play and CCC play stands as the conference leader with both marks. Three of her six shutouts came against CCC competition as she allowed more than one goal against one CCC opponent on the season. This is the first All-CCC honor of her career.

CHLOE WALDRON | MIDFIELD | FRESHMAN | HARWINTON, CONN.

Waldron, a freshman, impressed in her rookie campaign dawning the Blue and Green. The Harwinton, Conn. native played a pivotal role in the Endicott midfield, earning time in 16 of Endicott's 17 matches, including two starts. The midfielder helped limit possession through the attacking zone for opposing offenses while also displaying the ability control the ball into the opposition's zone, helping the Gulls to counter attack quickly. This is the first All-CCC award of her career.

JODI KENYON | HEAD COACH | 14TH YEAR

Kenyon, now in her 14th year as the head coach at Endicott, has been named as CCC Coach or Co-Coach of the Year for the sixth time in her tenure. The honor follows a 9-4-4 regular season record that saw the Gulls go 6-1-1 against CCC opponents, giving Endicott the top seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. Under her guidance, Endicott has produced an overall record of 197-74-28 (.706), and a record of 122-19-6 (.850) in CCC play. During her time at Endicott, the women have earned numerous athletic accolades, including 72 All-CCC honors, five Player of the Year honors, three Defensive Player of the Year nods, and three Senior Scholar-Athlete honors, while 66 were named to All-Region teams, including one regional defensive player of the year honor. Even more impressive, 129 women have earned CCC Academic All-Conference honors, while three have gone on to earn Academic-All District honors, including the school's first Academic All-American.
