Endicott and Clark Battle to 0-0 Draw

Sharlotte Pernice and Delaney Caggiano celebrate on the field.

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team hit the road for the first time this season as they traveled to Worcester, Mass. to take on the Cougars of Clark University in non-conference action. The two evenly matched teams competed for 90 minutes of regulation and two 10 minute overtime periods before settling for a 0-0 draw.

Through regulation, Clark held a slim 12-11 advantage in shots, with both squads putting six on goal. The Gulls would seize all offensive momentum in the two overtime periods, out-shooting the Cougars 9-0 in the extra 20 minutes of play. Three of those shots were on goal but could not find the back of the net. Endicott earned all three corners that were awarded in the contest.

Endicott keeper Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) made six saves in the draw, posting her second shutout in three starts this season. Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) and Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) led the Endicott offense as the duo combined for 11 total shots. Pesci led all players with four shots on goal.
