The New England Mutiny (5-3) will opt for a change in scenery Saturday night, as they will take on the 2016 United Women's Soccer (UWS) East Conference Champion New Jersey Copa F.C. (7-1-1) at West Springfield High School.
It will be the first time that the Mutiny have suited up for a match at West Springfield since the 2008 season. Playing at the new Clark Field facility will be a special occasion for the Mutiny -- especially with a former West Side star set to join their ranks.
Midfielder Sharlotte Pernice -- who helped lead the Terriers to a Division I state championship back in 2014 -- has been called up by the Mutiny for Saturday's game.
During her time at West Side, Pernice earned 2014 Division I All-New England honors while capturing Division I All-Western Mass. accolades three seasons in a row. This past season as a freshman at Endicott College, Pernice played in 20 games -- including seven starts -- and posted four goals and two assists.
"We are really happy to be back in West Springfield at a great facility," Mutiny team owner Joe Ferrara, Jr. said. "The Mutiny have always promoted its hometown heroes and we are excited to have Sharlotte in the mix."
