Flynn Leads Gulls Past Anna Maria

PAXTON, MA - Caitlin Flynn (Southold, NY/Mattituck), Kelly Dillon (Franklin, MA/Franklin) and Sarah Miller (Nashua, NH/Bishop Geurtin) each scored a pair of goals to lead the Endicott College women's soccer team to a 7-0 win over TCCC rival Anna Maria College on Monday night.

EC's leading scorer, Flynn put the Gulls up for good just over two minutes into play as she found the back of the net for the fourth time this season. The sophomore picked up her second goal of the match just seven minutes later to give the Blue and Green what would turn out to be a commanding 2-0 lead.

The Gulls would strike for two more goals in the first half as Flynn found Dillon to make it 3-0 then Miller scored an unassisted goal to make it 4-0 going in to half time.

After being shutout on Sunday against Williams College the EC offense was clicking on all cylinders Monday night as the Gulls out shot the Amcats 36-5 and added another three goals in the second half to sure up their fourth TCCC win of the year.

Flynn, Dillon, Miller all scored a pair of goals, Kellie Lajoie (York, ME/York) added a goal while Casey Moran (Bradford, MA/Haverhill) and Melissa D'Andrea (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) each had an assist.

Endicott goalkeeper Nicole Lawlor (Mansfield, MA/Mansfield) stopped four shots to earn the shutout while Anna Maria keeper Stefanie Zukowski (Spencer, MA/David Prouty) made 15 saves in the loss.

Anna Maria falls to 1-6-1 overall and 0-5-1 in TCCC play. The Gulls picked up their fifth win of the year and move to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference. Endicott returns to action on Saturday when the Blue and Green head to Milton, MA to take on Curry College at 6:30 pm.
